Apartment Sonnblick - Maishofen

Whom this selection is not sufficient yet, can also reach the ski resort of Maria Alm from the holiday home. There you will find more than 60 km of slopes of all levels of difficulty - and that before the wonderful scenery of the “Hochkoenig” mountains.

The famous mountain town Zell am See is located about 3 km south of the apartment. The local skiarea, the Schmittenhoehe, provides a first class ski resort with about 90 kilometers ski slope. From Zell am See a total of 3 cableways lead into the ski area. One of them begins almost at the centre of the historic old town.

From the apartment however its recommended to use the Areitbahn cable car, which is placed right on the southmost end of Zell am See but can be reached via 7 km long tunnel "Schmitten" in less than 10 minutes by car from the apartment.

Between April and November, the year-round opened glacier skiing area Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun, with its 75 kilometres of slopes one of the largest glacier ski resorts in the Austrian Alps, is a special attraction for ski and snowboard enthusiasts, who like to indulge their passion for winter sport also outside the winter season.

Even cross-country - fans will find a large field of activity close to the holiday home: The entry into the vast network of cross-country trails Maishofen and Zell am See begins right at the doorstep of the apartment. If this were not enough, the nearby 200 km long trail “Pinzgau” is highly recommended. In the Kitzsteinhorn glacier near Kaprun there is even a year-round trail with 3 km in length. The apartment is situated in a calm, rural residential area. The closest restaurants and shopping opportunities are located in the center of Maishofen, which is about 1 km away from the apartment.

Also for enthusiasts of winter hiking there is offered a lot: Especially recommended is the walk around the lake Zell, which lasts about 3-4 hours and also directly at the door can be started. Highly interesting is also the high altitude walk "Pinzgauer Spaziergang", which is prepared for winter hikers and starts at the top of the Schmittenhoehe – near the Cable Car mountain station.
